UNIQUE HOLLOW WRIST ON A ROBOTIC PALLETIZER WITH A 110 KG PAYLOAD
By using a hollow wrist design, cables and air hoses from the robot arm can be guided through the hollow wrist to the gripper.
The advantages of a hollow wrist are:
- No external cable interference; cables don't snag on the gripper, boxes, or pallets.
- Less maintenance: cables and hoses last longer, requiring fewer replacements.
- Higher operational reliability because cables and hoses don't snag or break.
- Cleaner and safer operation of the robot palletizer; the cables and hoses don't protrude above the robot, as they pass through the hollow wrist.
The hollow wrist is especially valuable when palletizing at high speeds, as the wrist must rotate frequently and quickly, leading to rapid wear of gripper cables and hoses.
BOUNDARY-Pushing Compact Design
The compact Kawasaki CP110L robotic palletizer has the lowest required ceiling height of 2,242 mm. Pallets and fences can be positioned close to the robot because the first axis interference radius is only 453 mm. This is the lowest value in the class of palletizing robots with a payload of 110 kg.
THE HIGHEST PALLETIZING CAPACITY FOR 110 KG ROBOTIC PALLETIZERS
Thanks to its high axis speeds, the CP110L robotic palletizer, according to Kawasaki, can stack 2,200 boxes per hour at a weight of 60 kg (gripper including box), with the following reciprocating motion: 400 mm upwards, 2,000 mm horizontally, 400 mm downwards.
LARGE WORKING RANGE
The Kawasaki CP110L robotic palletizer has a large working range:
- vertical maximum 2,433 mm
- horizontal maximum 2,505 mm
This large working range makes the CP110L suitable for use on many packaging lines where high stacks on large pallets must be palletized in a confined space.
ENERGY RECOVERY FEATURE IS STANDARD
During deceleration, kinetic energy is not converted into heat, but into electrical energy that is fed back into the grid. This contributes to energy savings and a reduction in CO₂ emissions by minimizing energy loss through the reuse of regenerative energy. This is particularly effective for robotic palletizers operating at high speeds, where frequent deceleration of rapid movements is required.
NEW F-CONTROLLER
Kawasaki's new F-Controller is 30% smaller and 32% lighter than the previous-generation E-Controller. The F-Controller and transformer can be mounted in a 19-inch rack. The F01 controller has only one cable to the robot arm (compared to two with the E01 controller). The F02 controller now has only two cables to the robot arm (compared to three with the F02 controller). The F03 and F04 controllers have three cables to the robot arm.
F-CONTROLLER HAS EXTENSIVE CONNECTIVITY
- Server IoT (Internet of Things): status monitor, operation log, fault diagnosis, data storage.
- ROS (Robot Operating System): open-source meta-operating system for communication with peripheral devices.
- Bluetooth: for communication with smartphones and tablets.
- Connectivity for vision cameras.
- Ethernet: 2 Ethernet ports are standard.
- USB: 2 USB 2.0 ports are standard.
- Optional fieldbus: Profinet, Profibus, EtherNet/IP, EtherCat.
CORECUBIC-S LITE IS STANDARD
Because Kawasaki's CoreCubic-S Lite safety monitor is built into the F-B type controller as standard, it complies with ISO 10218.
The CoreCubic-S Lite has the following features: 1 work range monitoring, axis monitoring, speed monitoring, fast forward monitoring and user speed monitoring in teach mode, emergency stop, and external user emergency stop. The CoreCubic-S Lite can be expanded with licenses for Base (the same as the current Cubic-S) and Pro.
DEDICATED PALLETISING ROBOT
Designed specifically for palletising applications, the CP110LDF03 robot palletiser offers industry leading highest palletising capacity, largest work range and highest reliability. Kawasaki's high-speed palletising robots help companies improve production line efficiency, reduce cost of ownership and save energy.
HIGH-PERFORMANCE
The Kawasaki CP-Series palletising robots are the fastest and most reliable machines in the industry. The first axis (rotating the body of the robot) is driven a powerful servo motor with fan-forced air-cooled reduction unit. This unique feature makes the CP-Series the fastest accelerating palletising robots in the industry with the shortest cycle times and the highest palletising capacity.
COMPACT APPLICATIONS
The CP-Series combine a large working envelop with a small footprint with no counter weight at the back. This powerful robot can be safely integrated in guarded area's, which are smaller in dimensions then the working range by using Kawasaki's safety monitor Cubic-S, which monitors the movements of the robot permanently.
LARGE WORK ENVELOPE
The high vertical reach capability of the Kawasaki Palletizing Robots is ideal for tall pallet creation and multi-lane applications where the robot is required to reach over incoming and outgoing production lines. The extra-long horizontal reach allows for one Kawasaki robot to be used in applications where five or more outgoing pallet lanes are required.
HIGH PAYLOAD
The high payload capabilities of the Kawasaki Palletizing Robots allow for multiple product picks and complete pallet layer handling, resulting in fewer cycles per completed pallet.
SPACE- AND ENERGY SAVING ROBOT CONTROLLER
The CP-Series F03 controller is only 25% of the standard palletising controller size (41% with transformer unit) and fits under conveyors and other equipment. The F03 controller generates electric power while in a deceleration mode, reducing energy consumption and minimizing CO2 emissions.
USER FRIENDLY PALLETISING SOFTWARE PATEDIT
PatEdit has been developed by RFA especially for Kawasaki robots. It provides intuitive menu’s which enable the operator to create new palletising patterns and robot programs by a few tabs on a tablet-pc.
